The Algarve Classic Festival, one of the biggest classic car events in the Iberian Peninsula, will once again be present at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.
From the 28th to the 30th of October, its grand final will be played in the south of Portugal, marked by the elegance and performance of the various historic cars participating, as well as the modernity of the circuit.

O Mundial de Fórmula 1 vai regressar a Portugal em 25 de outubro, 24 anos depois da última vez em 1996, agora no Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, em Portimão.
The biggest event of Classic Cars of the Iberian Peninsula back from 23 to 25 October at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA). The Algarve Classic Festival will be a great "living museum" where the motorsport enthusiasts can relive the great cars and racing past, going back to see and hear big names in automotive history.
This year the event will be, most likely, the biggest ever. With 13 categories, the end-of-week will be marked by numerous races, in which the public can see and review all of the Automobile decades, since the early 30's to the 80's. The event already has more than 280 confirmed teams, with an expected total of more than 450 cars and over 500 drivers.
Despite these significant numbers rather than weight, the live event the quality of cars traveling up Portugal. At this point, we can highlight the presence of three spectacular cars, with special significance for the Portuguese:
The Lola "Team BIP" the car that was part of the first Portuguese team in international competitions and is known to all lovers of endurance racing. It is clearly a car that was in the minds of everyone, especially for the few who saw him compete in Vila Real and Estoril, getting great results.
Also the Ferrari 250GT Breadvan will be the headliner. This unique model, designed by Giotto Bizzarrini and Piero Drogo, participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1962 and is one of the most precious Ferrari ever made. A true work of art, its history, beauty and technical development. Thanks to its Austrian owner, you can not only see the car in a museum, but also hear this precious model on a runway at the Algarve International Circuit.
The third will be the Cooper T51 Formula 1 model that competed between 1959 and 1961 and who gave Cooper the World title in the first year of competition. In Portugal this model is especially remembered for the victory of Stirling Moss in Monsanto Circuit in August of that year, and the stakes of "Nicha" Cabral behind the wheel of this model, with Maserati engine.

Rotax World Finals
A little over a month, Interncaional Karting Algarve prepares to receive the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals. The event, which will take place 8-14 November brings together the best riders from around the world competing in the trophy given to the Austrians engines.
For the second time in Portimao, this competition has the participation of 288 world's best kart racers will compete in four categories, making it the world's race in terms of nationalities in dispute.
Among the many pilots will be Rubens Barrichello, the former F1 driver, who at 43 won the Rotax Max Challenge DD2 category in the South American and so secured the place in the final in Karting International Algarve. The rider with the highest number of shares in F1 GPs, won for the second time in his career a South American title kart.
About 12,500 spectators attended, from 4 to 6 September, the evidence of the Blancpain Sprint Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve.
Laurens Vanthoor and Robin Frijns were the big winners of the sprint race and Formula 3 stood out Felix Rosenqvist, who managed to win his ninth win of the season.
The dual Belgian-Dutch, winners of the race of the Blancpain Series Sprint, succeeded in Portimão stroke reach the third win of the season. Markus Winkelhock and Niki Mayr-Melnhof were and 2nd place, his best result since the beginning of his participation in the race, while Marco Seefried and Norbert Siedler reached the 3rd place after passing in front of the Bentley Continental Team HTP.
Swedish ago 23, Rosenqvist, who won the lead in the overall classification of the European Championship of Formula 3, were Jake Dennis and Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam) who finished second and third, respectively.
Marked by the debut of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and the return of Blancpain, the Portimão circuit also received the Racing Weekend, National Speed Championship, which complements the end-to-week with even more excitement and adrenaline.
Weekend week full of great races at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve
The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) receives between 4 and 6 September for the second consecutive year, Blancpain GT Series.
This protagonist championship big races, will not be the one to delight motorsport lovers to complete the weekend joins the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and the National Speed Championship (Racing Weekend).
During the first end-of-week of September, the best GTs nowadays brands like Audi, McLaren, Mercedes, BMW, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche and Nissan go on the track to compete in two types of series: Sprint and GT. Being its second season, the Blancpain GT Series account this year with seven rounds, returning to the track Portimão, one of the most demanding on the fifth lap.
European Formula 3 prefers the AIA
Last year the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, regarded as the 'stepping stone' to Formula 1, held in Moscow, which was scheduled another visit this year. Due to the huge logistical effort and expense, the teams requested before the race promoter who was reconsidered changing this round, thus resulting in the Portimão circuit.
This will be the first event in the Algarve track, which opened in 2008, the championship which has trained the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Ayrton Senna.
Between 1 and 2 September, will be held a collective test for the teams and drivers can adapt to the track. This race will be an addition to the evidence already announced, Blancpain Series and Sprint Racing Weekend, with the national speed championship.
Party for family
This year the Algarve Autodrome promotes an event for everyone. Algarve Classic Festival - The Revival of the Great Race
From 18 to 20 October 2013
From 18-20 October the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve will welcome the Algarve Classic Festival , an event that has been a constant presence in the calendar of AIA , marking this year the 5th consecutive year and is now regarded by enthusiasts of classic cars as a the best of the Iberian Peninsula .
Sea conditions and wind expected for the sinking of the first two vessels will lead the project Ocean Revival forced to reschedule sinking of NRP-EX and EX Carmo Oliveira and NRP-Zambezi for October 30th.
The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve will host another major sporting event, the Algarve Classic Festival 19-21 October.
A festival to celebrate the great endurance races of the season in which the powerful prototypes struggled for victories. The AIA has so various races of 2 hours that will put to the test claw all pilots and their machines.
Will be in lane 9 categories with a total of 14 races: JD Classic Challenge, U2TC, Sirtling Moss Trophy, GT & Sport Car Cup, Pre-War Sport Cars, Formula Junior, 1.000Km, IGD (Gentlemen Drivers Iberian) - Portimao Race and National Championship Classics 1300.
The 1000km Endurance Championship is a visit to some of the most prestigious European circuits such as Donington UK, Dijon in France or Italy in Monza.
Will be present at the prestigious circuit of Portimão cars as varied as Lola T70, Ferrari 512, Chevron B8 and B16, plus BMW 2002, Ford Escort MK2, GTAM Alfa Romeo, Porsche 911, Shelby 350, Ferrari Daytona, Ford GT40, Pantera , Datsun 240Z Series 1, with a special class for V8 touring cars pre-1963.
This is the fourth year that takes place this great festival, now called Algarve Classic Festival, the largest and most important event for historic cars in Portugal.
