Ria de Alvor
A Ria de Alvor tem das mais bonitas paisagens ribeirinhas do Algarve, misturando praia, canais, lagoa e sapal. Constitui uma das mais importantes zonas húmidas regionais, logo a seguir à Ria Formosa e ao Sapal de Castro Marim.
Ao longo dos cerca de seus 1500 hectares, a
ria apresenta um conjunto de habitats naturais e semi-naturais bem preservado e de significativa diversidade, com relevância a nível
europeu o que justifica a sua inclusão na Rede Natura 2000.
Alvor ria (drowned river valley) has one of the most beautiful
riverside landscapes of the Algarve, a true mixture of beach,
channels, lagoon and fen. It is one of the most important humid zones
in the region, following Ria Formosa and Castro Marin fen. Along a
1500 ha area, the ria presents several well-preserved natural and
semi-natural habitats with significant diversity.
It was included in Natura 2000 network, Revealing Importance Within The European ITS
context.
